Code & Ethics

Integrity, transparency and professional responsibility.

CLL’s professional principles complement—not replace—the legal and regulatory obligations that apply to lobbying activities.

CLL professional principles

  • Act with honesty, integrity and transparency.
  • Identify and appropriately address conflicts of interest.
  • Respect confidentiality and applicable privacy obligations.
  • Understand and comply with applicable lobbying legislation, regulations and official guidance.
  • Conduct professional activities respectfully and responsibly.
Important: CLL is not a regulator. For federal lobbying requirements, members and visitors should consult the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada, the Lobbying Act and the official Lobbyists’ Code of Conduct.
